I’m a book editor with a multidisciplinary professional background who believes that what ties all industries and people together is a good story.
My editing style is collaborative and communicative during all stages of developmental edits, copyediting, proofreading, and sensitivity read stages.
I have extensive work experience ranging from book publishing, music publishing, journalism, restaurant operations, corporate and private events, and television media.

Developmental Editing
Clarifying or reorganizing a manuscript for content and structure. May include some rewriting and reorganization of text. May also include copyediting and/or stylistic editing, if specified. Does not include research or writing original material unless specified.
Copyediting
Editing for grammar, usage, spelling, punctuation, and other mechanics of style; checking for consistency of mechanics and for internal consistency of facts; inserting level heads and approximate placement of art; editing tables, figures, and lists; making sure house style is adhered.
Proofreading
Detection and correction of any obvious errors in the manuscript and/or production proofs.
Sensitivity Reading
Detection of insensitive issues in the manuscript which fall under the Editor’s expertise and lived experience, which may include racism, bigotry, cultural inaccuracies, and ableism.
